Reformation: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow by Carl R Trueman

What can we learn from the sixteenth century Reformation? A better question would be, is there anything we can apply to our modern day to see a new Reformation. That is what Carl R. Trueman is talking about in his small book Reformation: Yesterday, Today, and Forever. This book is a reprint from his first edition in 1999. Trueman wrote in the forward if he still agreed with what he wrote over a decade ago. After reviewing the book, he realized that he still agrees with the things he wrote in his previous edition.

In four chapters, Trueman talks about how modern Christianity is challenged in our modern world, and how the lessons from the Reformation period can help the church overcome the challenges in the 21st century. Drawing upon examples from Martin Luther and John Calvin, Trueman talks about how the Reformation taught us about Worship, the church, and the authority of the Bible.

This book was a delight to read. I was able to complete this book while on vacation and was fired up. I recommend it to all Christians who are praying for a change within the church.

This book was given to me by Christian Focus for the purpose of review.
