The main thing is "...whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31, LSB).

The Gospel Does Not Need To Be Revamped
In case you have not heard, but the comic book world is buzzing over what is being called "The New 52" from DC Comics. DC Comics, which publishes Superman and Batman, are revamping their entire line up starting over majority of their beloved comics and introducing new characters as well. It all starts after a time altering mini-series called "Flashpoint." The first of this revamping process begins with Justice League #1 (the image above is the cover of the first issue). The reason for the revamp is to appeal to younger readers who are just starting to collect comic books. Lets fact it, how many of us comic book collectors have Action Comics #1, which is the first appearance of Superman?
There have been many rebooted efforts in Hollywood over the past few years. We have seen this in Batman Begins, Casino Royale for James Bond, and Star Trek. Film makers and comic writers alike want to redo popular stories for a whole new generation to make them popular again. However there us one story that does not need to be revamped and that is the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is the same story that has been passed down for the last two thousand years. That God came in the form of Jesus to live a perfect life on behalf of sinful men, die for their sins, and rise again on after being dead three days to give us a living hope.
While we may have new ways of communicating the gospel than the disciples in the first century did not have, such as blogs, TV, radio, internet, etc., the message is still the same. We do not need to change it to make it popular. The truth will always be the same as long as we present it in a way that glorifies God and is faithful to the Biblical text. The gospel will never change because Jesus never changes. While comic books, movies, and TV shows may get some new life for a younger generation, the gospel will be one message that will never have the need to be revamped.
