Book Review: Your Church Is Too Safe by Mark Buchanan

Ever felt like the church is playing it safe? Have you ever felt when you compare the modern day church to the church in the book of Acts that what's the difference? I am sure you are not alone.

In his book, Your Church Is Too Safe, Mark Buchanan address his boredom with the church and how the church has become this cuddle of people where they are very cautious in what they are doing versus what God expects them to become. Buchanan uses scripture as well as personal stories on how and why the church is not called to play it safe, but to be bold and courageous.

I appreicate the fact Buchanan took the time to write a book on how the church should not play it safe. I love how more writers are writing about the same thing with conviction and excitement behind what they wrote. However, this book was not that interesting to read. I admire what Buchanan was saying, but there were times I felt he was dragging and trying to implant more stories just to make his book longer. This book would make a great discussion between church leaders on how not to play it safe.

Thanks Zondervan for allowing me to review this book.
