Book Review: Reclaiming Love by Ajith Fernando

1 Corinthians 13 is quoted in almost every wedding in America. It happens to be quoted on some of those reality shows where people are trying to find love. This happens to be called "The Love Chapter" of the Bible.

Ajith Fernando's book, Reclaiming Love is a book about 1 Corinthians 13 and how Christians can apply it in their daily walk with Jesus. Fernando interprets 1 Corinthians 13 as the center of what it means to embrace our new life in Christ. Fernando makes an interesting point that 1 Corinthians 13 is sandwiched in between two chapters that are talking about spiritual gifts and speaking in tongues.

Throughout the rest of this book, Fernando takes a devotional commentary approach to 1 Corinthians 13 sharing what each verse in the text is talking about followed by sharing how a Christian can live it. Fernando shares personal stories from people in his life as well as from his work war-torn Sri Linka. This will be a good book to have along with other resources in studying 1 Corinthians 13.
