Book Review: Memoirs of the Way Home by Gerald M. Bilkes

Every once in a while, there will be some book that will not be the talk of social media nor make the bestsellers list due to the subject or the author is not well known to many readers. Gerald M. Bilkes is a professor from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI and many do not know who he is which is okay. Hopefully, after reading this review you will pick up his book, Memoirs of the Way Home, because this is a book that I could not stop reading.

Memoirs of the Way Home is a book that takes you the books of Ezra and Nehemiah as it relates to the doctrine of conversion. The book starts off with going through the historical context of both Biblical books as also give application to today's Christian. Each chapter of the book is about one or two chapters of Ezra and Nehemiah going over the text and relate it to conversion. The book is more of a devotional than a commentary going verse by verse through these two Old Testament books.

This is a great book to go with any Bible teacher teaching through the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. This is also a great aide as one reads through these two books for their own devotion time. I was blessed by the reading of this book. This book is also on my top read list for this year.

Thanks Reformation Heritage Books for letting me review this book.
