Don't Forget The Cross

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, let us not forget the cross. Too many Christmas sermons are built around the manger that there seems to be a tendency to forget the cross. Jesus never told us to remember his birth, he told us to remember his death. Two of the four gospels have recorded the birth of Jesus while all four have the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

This Christmas, as we celebrate God's gift to us in the manger, do not forget that God's gift to us also went to the cross. Without the cross, this Christmas would just be a birthday celebration with very little meaning.
