There are two reasons for coming to Christ in faith. The first is to receive life and salvation. But secondly, we come to him as believers so that we have "life more abundantly" (John 10:10). That is, to receive such supplies of grace as we may keep our souls spiritually healthy and strong. And as Christ reproves those who would not come to him that they might have life, so also he reproves those who do not come to him by faith for abundant life.
