Communion with God is not letting go and letting God, but the active exercise of faith in Christ as He reveals Himself in the Word of God. It is not an emptying of the mind, but the filling of the mind with the gospel of Christ. It is not union with a nebulous spirit, but a relationship with the historical Jesus Christ who died on the cross and rose physically from the dead.
