Jonny Ardavanis on Fearing God

What does it mean to fear God? It means to be gripped by His grandeur and glory. It means to put Him in His rightful place. To fear God means you are in awe of Him, that you worship Him, and that you desire to avoid anything that would dishonor Him. The believer’s fear of God as Father is qualitatively different from the fear of God as Judge. But the fear of God as Judge must come before the fear of God as Father.
