The main thing is "...whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31, LSB).

The Deity of Christ by Christopher W Morgan & Robert A Peterson
The Deity of Christ edited by Christopher W Morgan and Robert A Peterson is part of the Theology in Community series put out by Crossway. The previous titles include Suffering and the Goodness of God and The Glory of God which are also edited by Morgan and Peterson. This latest entry in the Theology in Community series deals with Christ's deity.
This books contains 10 chapters each written by different pastors and scholars in looking at the deity of Jesus. This book examines the deity of Christ through the gospels, the book of Revelation, Church history, cults, world religions and even in the Old Testament. The book even examines the deity of Christ as it relates to us today and in our work in missions.
This book does a great job in defending the deity of Christ and you learn a lot about how cults and world religions look at the deity of Jesus. Now the questions is why should we learn about the deity of Christ? The introduction of this book answers that as Morgan and Peterson share 6 important reasons cited from the Handbook of Christian Apologetics:
1. The divinity of Christ is the most distinctively Christian doctrine of all.
2. The essential difference between orthodox, traditional, bibilcal, apostolic, historical, creedal Christianity and revisionist, modernist, liberal Christianity is right here.
3. The doctrine works like a skeleton key, unlocking all other doctrinal doors of Christianity.
4. If Christ is divine, then the incarnation, or "enfleshing" of God, is the most important event in history.
5. There is an unparalleled existential bite to this doctrine. For if Christ is God, then, since he is omnipotent and present right now, he can transform you and your life right now as nothing and no one else possibly can.
6. If Christ is divine, he has the right to our entire lives, including our inner life and our thoughts.
Good enough reasons to defend the deity of Christ and reason why every Christian should take the time to study more on the divinity of Christ. This book is one of those resources that can be used to equip you for defending the belief and reality that Jesus is God. I highly recommend it.
This book was given to me by Crossway for the purpose of review.
