Why God Won't Go Away by Alister McGrath

We have all heard about Atheism, which is the belief that there is no God. Now there is a new wave of Atheism that has arose in the last few years called New Atheism. What is New Atheism? That is what Alister McGrath talks about in his book, "Why God Won't Go Away." This book deals with what New Atheism is and what they believe.

The book is divided into three parts, what is New Atheism, how to engage New Atheism, and where does it go from here? New Atheism got the attention of the media by Sam Harris in his book "The End of Faith" as well as "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins and "Breaking the Spell" by Daniel Dennett. McGrath gives a small bio on all three of these men as well as Christopher Hitchens who wrote the book "God is Not Great," which McGrath called the most entertaining of the New Atheism books.

The rest of the book deals with what beliefs New Atheism as well as hold to engage with New Atheists and where is New Atheism today. This book was a great read. Every believer needs to read this because this book will equip you into the world of New Atheism, even though, this is not a very long book. One thing to note about this book, it was not written by someone who has studied New Atheism, but by one who has studied and defended the faith against New Atheism.
