Guarding the Treasure by Linda Finlayson

Guarding the Treasure: How God's People Preserve God's Word by Linda Finlayson is a book geared toward children to introduce them to people throughout the centuries who have translated the Bible and the ones who wrote books of the Bible. Finlayson, gives a brief intro on the Biblical writers such as Moses, David, and Paul. There was even a chapter on what is a Canon and how both Testaments came together.

The book gives a brief look in church history, including the Reformation, on how God's word has been passed down throughout the generations. The book even talks about modern times on how we can get the Bible translated and distributed to our world using technology. There is even two pages in the book that gives a five-step process on how to make a book in the 21st century.

I normally do not do reviews on books geared toward kids, but this is one I can recommend because it teaches the preservation of God's word on a child's level. The chapters are not long and to the point.

Thanks to Christian Focus for letting me review this book.
