Today is the 34th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. Many people will be flocking to Graceland to pay their respects. I can only imagine the number of Elvis impersonators will be performing today in Las Vegas. Some people have even called this day as the day when music died. There was even a belief, which I am still not sure if is still held to this day, that one day Elvis will rise from the grave.
Elvis has been called the King of Rock and Roll, but we have a Greater King than Elvis. Jesus is that King. Think about:
Jesus came to save sinners
Jesus was God in the flesh
Jesus died for the sins of the world to satisfy the righteousness of God
Jesus took our punishment for our sins
Jesus did rise from the dead
Jesus is still alive sitting at the right hand of the throne of God interceding for us
Jesus is advocate when we sin
Jesus will one day return to rule and reign on the earth
