Book Review: Anchored by Kayla Aimee

I remember the day when my son was born. I remember it being a day of joy that turned into sorrow. His heart rate was high for a baby. My wife and I traveled by ambulance to another hospital out of state. I did not know what was going on. The doctors kept me mostly in the dark.

Hours later, our son was born healthy but his heart was still beating fast. After talking with a heart specialist, we decided to shock his heart to where it will stop and start again. It was truly an answer to prayer and 14 years later, my son has never had a heart problem.

When parents are waiting for the arrival of their baby, there is joy and nerves are on edge. For Kayla Aimee, she had to endure going into labor at 24 weeks pregnant which is considered premature. This is something she was not expecting nor would this be what any parent would be expecting.

In her book, Anchored, she writes about her ordeal with a premature birth after years of battle infertility. She writes about the challenge this was bringing to her faith. In addition she writes about the challenges of motherhood as well as the strength of her marriage as a result of everything that went on.

This book would an encouragement for couples who have gone through similar experiences.

Thanks B&H Publishing for letting me review this book.
