Book Review: The CSB Apologetics Study Bible

Back in March, I reviewed the CSB Ultrathin Reference Bible, where I said that one thing I am looking forward to in the releasing of the Christian Standard Bible (CSB), was their study and specialty Bibles, which they did have a few good ones when the CSB was known as the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB). One study Bible that I have always wanted to acquire, but never had the chance to was The Apologetics Study Bible.

This study Bible is not a one where there are notes for every passage, but it tries to communicate the meaning of the passage in this original context. There are also numerous articles from the various apologists and scholars. Some of them include Lee Strobel, Albert Mohler, Ravi Zacharias, and Josh McDowell. One name that popped up was Hank Hanegraaff, which is interesting because he recently to converted to Eastern Orthodoxy, which makes me think the articles he has written before his conversion or most of these articles as well study notes were adapted from the study Bible that was in the HCSB.

Is this Bible for believers or unbelievers? I think it is for both. Believers to help better understand what they believe so they be better equipped to answer anyone to give reasons for the hope we have (1 Peter 3:15). For unbelievers to better understand what Christians believe and hopefully God will call unto Himself so they may be saved. Overall, a good study Bible. Not one that will be my go-to study Bible when studying the Word, but a good one to use.
