Book Review: Christ or Chaos by Dan Dewitt

How will the church respond the opposition of the current culture? Some might run and hide while others will confront in grace and truth. Some churches will respond in a way that even Jesus would have rebuked them for.

The opposition does not mainly come from the media but it can come from our home. For a college student, it can come from a roommate. In Christ or Chaos, Dan DeWitt takes narrative approach to show how Christians need to respond to the culture. DeWitt uses a college student named Thomas that will look at aspects of the Christian life that is very important.

DeWitt seeks to show his readers that the gospel needs to be unshackled and brought out from closed doors unlike what some people in our culture want us to do today. The books looks at the existence of God and how Atheists view the creation account in Genesis. DeWitt also says there is a place in the Bible for science and humanity to fit although the Bible is not a textbook nor was it ever was. While the Bible tells different stories in different genres, it does tell one story.

DeWitt goes in to the gospel message of how we have inherited Adam's sin and we are in need of a new birth. He also goes on to say that this world was created by God but it is not the way that God intended it to be which is why we need a redeemer to save us.

This short book is perfect for teenagers and college students as they go into the world. This book will equip them for the good work of ministry and be ready to make a defense for their faith.

Thanks Crossway for letting mew review this book.
