Book Review: Tell Someone by Greg Laurie

When it comes to evangelism some Christians run for the hills. Some just let the pastor or church staff do it. Others feel they are not qualified because they were not called to preach. Whatever the reasons, evangelism is something most Christian don't engage in.

Many books on evangelism don't make the New York Times Bestseller list and they are not the first section you come across in a Christian bookstore. Greg Laurie has written a book on evangelism designed to help the reader understand why it is important called, Tell Someone. Laurie has preached all over the world and seen people come to Christ, so he knows a thing or two when it comes to evangelism.

In this book, Laurie addresses why a Christian must share their faith along with where one should evangelize. He also mentioned that one of the first steps is to love people, which I really appreciate him writing that. It is hard to love lost people, in fact, it is hard to love people in general. Evangelism must come from a heart that loves God and people.

One thing Laurie does write is that we must show we still care for the person we are witnessing to whether they believe the message of Christ or not. We should not treat people like a project, which has been one thing people, saved and not saved, has against evangelism. Laurie writes that we should tell your personal testimony in witnessing for Jesus. I really appreciate him saying boasting in what Christ has done. We are sharing God's story, not just ours. Our story is only a blip on the radar compared what God has done through the finished work of Christ.

Overall, a good book on evangelism. I think there a few better ones that are available. I am not a big fan of Laurie's work, but I did like this book.

Thanks B&H Publishing for letting me review this book.
