Are We To Give Thanks To The Lord?

As Thanksgiving approaches, one question that is always asked is, "What are we thankful for?" We give thanks for our family, friends, good health, kids are doing good in school, etc. A lot of times, God seems to be left our of the equation when it comes to giving God thanks.

Are we to give thanks to the Lord? The answer to that question is yes. Here are a few verses that command us to give thanks to God:

Oh Give Thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! (1 Chronicles 16:8)

Give Thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! (Psalm 33:2)

Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and Give Thanks to his holy name! (Psalm 97:12)

Enter his gates with Thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give Thanks to him; bless his name! (Psalm 100:4)

Oh Give Thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! (Psalm 107:1)

As you celebrate Thanksgiving, remember to give thanks to the Lord for all He has done.
