Book Review: Understanding World Religions in 15 Minutes A Day by Garry R. Morgan

This world is filled with many religions as if people were going through a buffet picking out one that looks appealing. For many people, they have no clue what Islam, Buddhism, or even Christians believe. For many new Christians, they need to know what teachings other religions teach so they will not confuse it with Christianity. Some books on comparative religion can be up to 1,000 pages, if not more.

Garry R. Morgan writes a book that gives the basic beliefs and history of world religions in his book, Understanding World Religions in 15 Minutes A Day. Long title but that is exactly what this book does. Each chapter is not long and you can learn about world religions in about 15 minutes, 30 if you are a slow reader.

Morgan dives into the story behind each religion. It takes multiple chapters to explain some religions because there is so much information such as Islam and Christianity. Not only does Morgan tackle the major religions of the world but also the lesser known religions such as Sikhism, Shinto, and Baha'i. In case you were wondering, there is a chapter on Mormonism, which is a hot topic thanks to this year's presidential election.

This book is ideal for a new believer to understand what other religions believe. This book is also good for those who study world religions in college or seminiary. I know I will refer to this book time and time again especially when I get people a of certain religion that loves going door-to-door coming in our neighborhood.

Bethany House for letting me review this book.
