Reflecting on The Love of God

Today is Valentine's Day, which is the day of the year men can buy their wives flowers without apologizing for something stupid they did. Today is also a day where some singles feel left out because they think there are unlucky in love. Today is also the day, if you are dating, not to listen to a Taylor Swift song.

Today is also a day to reflect on the love of God. God has perfect love for sinners because it is a never-ending love. It is an unconditional love. It is a love that will never die in spite of us. The Bible tells us that God is a holy God that must punish sin because it violates his holiness yet He loves sinners enough to send a Savior to rescue sinners from their sin.

Meditate on these verse as you reflect on the love God has for you:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers (1 John 3:16)

God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8)

We love because he first loved us (1 John 4:19)
